  11. In portugal I saw a Nokia(!) modem connected with a speed of 192 kbps.
  12. The guy there said it could also connect at a speed of 512 kpbs, but
  13. with a "higher" error ratio.

  15. I heard about these modems before but never saw them working. It was quite
  16. expensive, about US$5000.00, but it worked over standard two-wire
  17. leased lines.

  19. Can somebody tell some more about this type of modems? I couldn't find
  20. anything at www.nokia.com, neither at sites of well known modem
  21. manufacturers like motorola, telebit, usr and at&T.

  23. The man in Portugal said it was a baseband modem.
